In this article, you’ll learn what happens to your data when switching NOWATCH devices and how to switch devices smoothly.

Short answer: Yes, as long as your data is synced to the app before switching.
However, the switching process currently requires a factory reset, which may cause data gaps during the re-pairing process.
Each time you switch watches, the previous device must be factory reset before pairing a new one. Because of this, we don’t recommend switching frequently.
Good news: Improving the switching experience is on our roadmap.
What happens to your data when switching watches?
Data that has already synced to the app will remain.
Any data stored only on the watch (not yet synced) will be permanently lost after a factory reset.
During the transition, you may notice short data gaps, as you won’t be wearing a watch and the new device needs time to connect to the app.
Tip: Before switching, always open the app and allow syncing to complete.
How to switch to a new NOWATCH device
1. Remove your current watch from Bluetooth
Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings and remove (forget) your current NOWATCH device (the one you don't want to wear at the moment).
Learn how to do this in this article.
2. Factory reset your current watch
Fully close the NOWATCH app.
Place the watch you want to disconnect on the charger.
Press and hold the crown until you feel a vibration pattern.
-
Keep holding and count 15 seconds after the final vibration before releasing.
Important:
You must feel the full vibration pattern. Releasing too early will prevent the reset from completing. Remove the watch from the charger.
3. Prepare your new watch
Make sure it’s charged
Keep it near your phone
Ensure Bluetooth is turned on
4. Pair your new device through the app
Open the NOWATCH app.
Go to Device Details (watch icon, top right).
Tap Connect or Pair.
Select your watch and confirm the serial number shown in the app matches the one on the back of the watch. Learn more about the serial number in this article.
Key things to keep in mind
Data synced = safe
Unsynced data = lost after reset
Switching may create gaps
Frequent switching is not recommended (for now)
