Find out why sleep isn't detected automatically, what we're doing to fix it, and how to get the most accurate readings in the meantime.
About sleep data detection limitations
Sleep tracking in the NOWATCH app can sometimes be imprecise. This means sleep may not always be detected automatically or may not fully reflect your actual sleep patterns. We're aware of this and are actively working on updating the algorithm to make it more stable and accurate.
Best practices while improvements are in progress
We recommend editing your sleep manually when / if needed to ensure the best possible accuracy. This will help with:
- More reliable Sleep Regularity and Sleep Duration insights
- More accurate AI-generated reports
- Average Sleep HRV and Sleep Duration appearing in the Sleep Summary screen
- The Asleep metrics showing correctly in the Overview screen
Please note that Sleep Stages are not available when logging sleep manually. This is a current limitation we're aware of and is included in our ongoing algorithm improvements.
Additionally, the app is currently unable to detect naps and sleep stages during naps. However, you can log them manually for improved data accuracy.
