Watch disconnects right after connecting
If the main issue you’re experiencing is that the watch connects after following the in-app instructions under the Device Details screen, but disconnects a few seconds later, you’ll need to perform a factory reset.
Important to know
After a factory reset, any data stored on your NOWATCH that hasn’t been synced to your phone will be lost.
Steps to complete before the factory reset
- Ensure your NOWATCH isn't running out of battery.
- Completely close the NOWATCH app.
- Remove ('Forget') your NOWATCH serial number from your phone's Bluetooth settings. Learn how to do this in this article.
- Turn Bluetooth off, wait a few seconds, then turn it back on.
- Proceed with the Factory Reset. Step-by-step instructions below.
How to perform a factory reset
- Place your NOWATCH on the charger.
-
Press and hold the NOWATCH crown. You will feel a vibration pattern. Keep pressing the crown and count internally to 15 seconds after the final vibration before releasing it, to ensure no further vibrations occur.
- Remove the NOWATCH from the charger and place it on your wrist.
- In the NOWATCH app, tap Device Details (watch-shaped icon at the top right corner of the NOW tab), tap Reconnect.
- Follow the on-screen instructions and select your NOWATCH serial number when requested.
After that, you should connect successfully.
