Quick introduction: Sleep Summary
The Sleep Summary gives you an overview of your night, including your Sleep Duration, Awakenings, Sleep Stages, Sleep Latency and Efficiency, and more. You can tap any date at the top to switch nights and view insights for a different day.
You can also swipe left or right to change dates and check the corresponding data for that day.
How to access the Sleep Summary
Via the Overview screen
Open the Overview.
Tap the Asleep or moon icon at the top.
Under Sleep Regularity or Sleep Duration, tap any bar.
Tap the arrow next to Awakenings (if you're under Sleep Regularity) or the date (if you're under Sleep Duration) to view that night’s Sleep Summary.
Via the Timeline
- Access the Timeline
- Tap any date on any chart
- Tap the moon icon

Tap View Summary
Via the Now tab (only available when opening the app for the first time in the day)
- Access the Now tab.
- You'll see a banner at the top, informing you that your Sleep Summary is ready.

Metrics and insights available in the Sleep Summary
Self-reported sleep quality
The answer to how you slept.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
You'll also find your typical range, and whether your night's HRV falls within that range.

Night of Sleep breakdown
Time in bed (light green): Lying in bed (not sleeping)
Asleep (green): Actual sleep

Awake (white): Times you woke up during the night
You can also edit your Night of Sleep data by tapping the pencil icon in the top right. Just keep in mind that editing the time will affect calculations and may impact other metrics in your Sleep Summary.
You'll also see your Night of Sleep breakdown reflected in the Timeline, shown through the moon icon and its colors.
Sleep Duration
- Night's Sleep Duration (green column)
- Recommended Sleep Range (grey shape)

Awakenings
- The number of times you woke up during the night.

Benchmark for what's considered ideal (fewer than 2 awakenings per night).
Sleep Latency
The time it takes you to fall asleep once you start trying. Ideally, this should be under 30 minutes.
Sleep Efficiency
The percentage of time in bed that you spent sleeping. Ideally, this should be above 85%.
Restoration
How quickly and easily your body was able to relax and recharge overnight.
Physiological Reactivity
When you fall asleep, your body should quickly drop below Homeostasis into low reactivity, and stay there for most of the night.
- Lower reactivity means your body was calm and in a restorative state.
- Higher reactivity may point to stress, illness, or disrupted recovery.
Time to Low Reactivity
The time it takes your body to drop below Homeostasis once you start trying to fall asleep. Ideally, you reach Low Reactivity within 30 minutes of getting into bed.
- Shorter time: Your body quickly settled into a restorative state, putting more resources toward rest-and-digest. This is a sign of a healthy body.
- Longer time: Your body struggled to shift enough resources toward restoring itself, which may result in poor sleep quality.
Percentage of time in Low Reactivity
The total amount of time in bed that your body spent in a calm, restorative state. More time in Low Reactivity means more opportunity for your body to rest, repair, and recover.
Ideally, you should spend about 90-100% of your time in bed in Low Reactivity.

Awakening Stage
The Sleep Stage you wake up in. Ideally, you should wake up while on Light Sleep.
Deep Sleep is the most difficult stage to wake up from. If this happens, you will likely experience sleep inertia or mental fogginess.
