Sleep is automatically detected by NOWATCH. Learn how to log sleep manually, edit sleep times, and delete a sleep entry if needed.
Automatic sleep detection
The app detects sleep automatically and provides a dedicated Sleep Summary screen with detailed insights about your night. You can access it via the Overview, the Timeline, or the Now tab when you open the app for the first time that day. Learn more here.
Logging sleep manually
If sleep detection did not work as expected or is wrong, we recommend deleting the existing entry and logging a new one instead of editing it.
How to delete sleep detection
- Tap the Timeline
- Tap the moon icon at the top of any chart and a banner will appear
- Tap Delete
How to log a new sleep entry
From the Now tab:
- Tap Now at the bottom
- Tap the + icon at the bottom right corner.
- Select Log Sleep.
4. Adjust the start and end times.
Please note that you are adjusting the time in bed, not the actual sleep time.
This is expected, as you wouldn’t know exactly what time you fell asleep and woke up.
5. Tap save
From the Timeline (iOS only)
- Tap Timeline at the bottom
- Tap the + icon at a specific time on any chart.
- Select Log Sleep.
4. Adjust the start and end times (time in bed).
5. Tap Save.
How to edit sleep
If you'd rather edit an existing sleep entry, keep in mind that changing your sleep time adjusts your time in bed, not your time asleep. This may affect calculations and other metrics in your Sleep Summary.
- Tap the Timeline.
- Tap the moon icon at the top of any chart. A Sleep banner will appear.
- Tap Edit (pencil icon).
4. Make your changes.
5. Tap Save
