What to avoid
Do not delete and reinstall the NOWATCH app. This action won’t fix connectivity issues and may create new problems.
If you followed all pairing and connection requirements and best practices, but the connection problem persists, continue reading below.
Force-close the app
To force-close the app correctly:
On iOS devices
Go to the Home screen.
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle.
Swipe left or right to find the NOWATCH app.
Swipe up on the app preview to close it.
On Android devices
Open your phone’s Settings.
Tap Apps or Apps & notifications (this may vary by device).
Tap See all apps, or scroll to find NOWATCH.
Tap the app name.
Tap Force stop.
Confirm when prompted.
Reopen the app and wait up to one minute
The connection may take a bit longer than expected to re-establish.
Reconnect via the app
If you waited up to one minute but the connection didn't re-establish:
- Access the NOWATCH app
- Tap the Now screen
- Tap Device Details (watch icon at the top right)
Tap Reconnect and follow the in-app instructions.
Reboot your NOWATCH device
Before rebooting your watch, please note that any unsynced data (data stored on the watch but not synced to the app) will be permanently lost.
If reconnecting via the app didn't do the trick, follow the steps below:
Force-close the app.
Keep the watch on your wrist.
Reboot your watch by pressing and holding the NOWATCH crown for 12 seconds. You should feel a long vibration, indicating the reboot was successful.
Reopen the app, and wait up to one minute for the connection to re-establish.
Tap Reconnect under the Device Details screen if it doesn't connect automatically.
First-time pairing: Troubleshooting steps
Follow these troubleshooting steps only if you met all initial requirements and are trying to connect your watch and phone for the first time.
Toggle Bluetooth off and on
- Toggle Bluetooth off and, after a few seconds, turn it back on.
- Try pairing through the app again.
Forget the device from Bluetooth
- Open your phone's Bluetooth settings and check if you see your NOWATCH serial number.
- If you do, forget the device from Bluetooth.
- Keep the watch on the charger.
- Try pairing through the app again.
Force-close the app
Reopen the app.
Keep the watch on the charger.
Restart the pairing process by following the in-app instructions.
If you don't see the pairing screen, tap Device Details (watch icon at the top right) and then Connect.
If, after connecting, you notice that no data is being recorded within a few minutes, check whether the sensors on the back of the device are lighting up while you’re wearing it. If the sensors are not activating, performing a quick reboot should resolve the issue.
