A failed firmware update can be resolved without losing data. Learn what to do when a firmware update is stuck or fails on your NOWATCH.
Known Issue for iOS users only
After the recent firmware update, your watch may show as disconnected. The update may also display as "failed" even though it completed successfully. To resolve this:
- Remove the watch from your phone's Bluetooth settings.
- Open the app and tap Connect to re-pair your watch.
- Confirm your firmware version is 2026.06.30.3.
Another issue you may experience:
- The firmware update takes a long time to finish, and once it does, it fails.
- When you access your phone's Bluetooth screen, you can see your NOWATCH serial number showing as Connected, but the information (i) icon next to it is missing. If that's the case, you won't be able to forget the watch on Bluetooth.
- Reconnecting via the app doesn't work.
What you can do to fix this issue:
- Once you see the firmware update failed message, close this screen and navigate to the Home screen.
- Fully close the NOWATCH app, and perform a manual factory reset. On Bluetooth, the device will still show as connected without the information (i) icon next to it. Leave it as it is.
- Open the app, access Device Details, and tap Reconnect. Wait for the "Pair" pop-up to show. Do not force-close the app even if the pop-up shows with a delay. Tap it once it does, and that should re-establish your connection.
