What does data sharing mean?
Your NOWATCH data is stored locally on your phone or tablet by default. This means your information stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
When data sharing is enabled, your data is securely backed up. This allows us to:
Provide features like Daily Reflections and AI Insights
Improve your experience with more personalized guidance
Help recover your data if needed (iOS only)
Your data is linked to a randomized code, not your identity, ensuring your privacy is protected.
Important to know
We cannot access your data unless you explicitly enable data sharing.
If data sharing is disabled, your data remains only on your device.
If you delete the app while data sharing is off, your data will be permanently lost.
On iOS, enabling data sharing allows you to restore your data if you reinstall the app.
How to enable or disable data sharing
- Open the NOWATCH app and navigate to the Now tab.
- Tap the gear icon (Settings) in the top left corner of the screen.
-
Under Settings, tap Data sharing.
-
After reviewing the information on the screen, tap Share data to enable it. To disable it, tap Don't share data.
How to ensure data sharing is enabled
To ensure Data Sharing is enabled so that backed-up data displays in the app:
- Disable Share data, and enable it again in the app's Settings (gear icon at the top left corner of the Now tab).
- Restart the app by closing it completely (swipe it up and away), then reopen it.
- Wait a few minutes for the app to sync; it may take some time for the data to appear again.
