In this article, you’ll learn what to do if a firmware update fails and how to get your NOWATCH running normally again.
If you experience any issues while installing a firmware update—such as a frozen screen, a stalled installation, or a message that the update failed—try the steps below.
Fixing common firmware update issues
- Place the watch on your wrist
- Fully close the NOWATCH app
-
Reboot your device:
- Press and hold the crown for about 15 seconds, until you feel a vibration.
-
Reopen the app:
- Your NOWATCH should reconnect automatically. If not, tap the watch icon at the top right and tap Connect.
-
Check your firmware version:
- Tap the watch icon (Device Details screen).
- If the update is installed successfully, the Firmware Update button won't be available.
- If the update did not install, the button will be active.
-
If the update did not install:
- Place your NOWATCH on the charger and follow the in-app instructions to try installing the update again.
Reminder
Make sure your NOWATCH has at least 80% battery before starting the update.
