Sourcing and Sustainability
Our Commitment to Ethical Stone Sourcing
Sourcing locations: Our current collection includes a variety of stones from India and the Lapis Lazuli stone from Afghanistan. We collaborate with a small family-owned cutting atelier in Rajasthan, India.
Direct trade: We strive for transparency and traceability in our supply chain by working directly with mines and small-scale sellers. This helps us minimize waste and ensure ethical practices.
Quality and efficiency: We aim to use 80-90% of each stone, returning any subpar materials for exchange to reduce natural resource waste.
Environmental and social impact
We are mindful of the social and environmental impacts of our sourcing:
Strict regulations: Mining laws in India are stringent, with government oversight to prevent child labour and environmentally harmful practices.
Worker conditions: We acknowledge the cultural differences in living standards and aim to positively influence worker well-being as our purchasing power grows. Our goal is to partner directly with mines to improve conditions further.
Commitment to quality and sustainability
Our use of recycled and eco-friendly materials helps reduce our environmental impact. We focus on high-quality components to ensure your NOWATCH remains a valuable tool for well-being over the long term.
We’re using business as a force for good. We are in the process of getting our B Corporation certification. If accepted, we will meet the highest verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.
