NOWATCH X Sensors

NOWATCH X is equipped with advanced sensors to continuously capture your physiological data.

Proximity Sensor

Detects whether the device is being worn by sensing its proximity to your skin.

Signals when to activate or deactivate other sensors accordingly.

Pedometer

Tracks your Steps throughout the day, helping you monitor your physical activity.

It provides insights into your movement patterns.

3-Axis Accelerometer

Measures acceleration along the X, Y, and Z axes to track movement direction and intensity.

Used for metrics like Motion and Activity type (walking, running, etc.).

  • X-axis: side to side (left to right)

  • Y-axis: forward and backward

  • Z-axis: up and down

Photoplethysmogram (PPG)

Uses green, red, and ambient lights to detect changes in blood pressure by illuminating the skin and measuring changes in light absorption.

Enables tracking of Heart Rate (HR), Heart Rate Variability (HRV), Breath Rate and SPO2.

Bio-Impedance (BioZ)

Measures the conductance between electrodes on the skin, providing insights into physiological processes.

Used to derive bio-conductance, with ongoing development for expanded metrics.

Visible as the metal plates on the underside of the watch, which make direct contact with your skin.

Temperature

Measures skin temperature. We are currently working on integrating it into the Timeline, enhancing existing metrics like the Stress Gauge, and developing new ones.
